Arthritis Foundation Releases First
Ever Guidelines for CBD Use.
The Arthritis Foundation announced
recommendations for consumers who wish to try
the cannabis-derived product called CBD. .
According to their survey, nearly 80 percent
of patients are currently using, have used or
are considering CBD for joint pain.
In the group’s guidelines, it is suggested that
consumers who wish to try CBD start with the
lowest dose and track their symptoms over time.
They also suggest working with a physician to
find reputable CBD products, naming sprays and
liquid drops as the best method of administration.
The group’s guidelines go on to staunchly advocate
against CBD vaping, especially in light of the recent
investigation into vaping-linked illnesses. .
It is the first set of official guidelines released
by a major patient advocacy group, as the
FDA has yet to regulate CBD products. .
It was important to acknowledge the public's
interest, and put out some guidelines on the
state of the science … The guidelines are not
saying, 'you should try this.' They're saying, 'if
you want to try, here's how you should do it.’ , Kevin Boehnke, University of
Michigan Researcher, via ‘Today’
