Faulty voltage transformer explodes sending sparks onto Chinese street

A voltage transformer exploded sending sparks onto a street and damaging nearby vehicles in southern China.

The dramatic video, filmed in Guilin city in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on September 6, shows the sparks flying out of the voltage transformer.

Another clip shows the flames engulfing a nearby car.

Several cars and scooters were ignited by the sparks and nearby communities had power cuts.

The fire has been put out and the circuit is being repaired.

The cause is being investigated, according to reports.
