The world's second largest
meat marketer and processor
has invested in New Wave Foods.
The San Francisco start-up
intends to debut the plant-based
shrimp sometime next year.
This is the first disrupter in this particular kind of protein, and there’s a clear advantage to coming in and being the first disruptive shrimp, Mary McGovern, New Wave CEO,

Shrimp are the number
one consumed seafood
both in the U.S. and on earth.
New Wave Foods intends to
follow-up its plant-based shrimp
debut with similar debuts of
both crab and lobster.
Tyson has been
quick to jump into the
plant-based food world.
The company now has its
own signature plant-based
meat brand, called Raised & Rooted
