MANILA – An intense car chase ensued between suspected carjackers and policemen at the boundary of Quezon City and Manila on Monday morning. Members of the Manila Traffic Bureau and Presidential Security Group (PSG) chased about three men who seized a black Toyota Hilux (conduction sticker YD 0899) from its driver, Victorino Igros, in Sampaloc, Manila. Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau personnel were able to call for help from PSG members who were around the area. This resulted in a car chase that saw gunshots being fired at the fleeing suspects and the truck. The suspects eventually abandoned the pickup truck in Barangay San Manuel, Quezon City after hitting a Toyota Vios. The truck's tires also burst after being hit by bullets. None of the carjackings suspects were arrested. The responding authorities were not sure whether the armed suspects got wounded during the chase.
