Trump Ends Automatic Citizenship for

Born Abroad The U.S. Citizenship and
Immigration Services (USCIS)
confirmed the change on Wednesday. Starting Oct. 29, if children of U.S. military members or government employees are born overseas, parents will have to apply for
citizenship on their child's behalf
before their 18th birthday. The change in policy
caused immediate backlash. The USCIS maintains that the policy will
only affect a "small" number of children.
