'Saturday Night Live' Cast Member Leslie Jones to Depart .
According to 'The Hollywood Reporter,' she will not be apart of the show's
45th season, which premieres
next month.
Jones became an official part of the long-running sketch show back in
2014 after starting out as a writer.
Over the NBC's program's past
five seasons, she has evolved into
one of its most recognizable stars.
Jones has also recently earned
two Emmy nominations for
her role on 'SNL.'.
Sources tell 'Variety' that the 51-year-old is leaving to explore
other entertainment projects.
She will appear in the sequel to
Eddie Murphy's 'Coming to America'
and has an upcoming stand-up
special on Netflix.
The "Ghostbusters' star herself has not personally commented on the decision to leave 'Saturday Night Live.'
