Patod or pitod is a traditional Rajasthani dish that is made as a snack or eaten as a side dish with your meal during Paryushan. Obviously, many people run out of ideas about what to cook during the Paryushan week because Jains avoid eating potatoes, onions, and garlic. Considering that, 'PATOD' is an amazing dish which can be enjoyed during this holy period of Paryushan.

Ingredients:
(Serves 2)
- 1 cup Gram Flour
- 3 cups Water
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
- Salt

Ingredients for tempering:
- 2 tsp Oil
- 1 tsp Mustard Seeds
- 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
- 2 tbsp Sesame seeds
- 1/4 tsp Asafoetida
- 2 tbsp Fennel Seeds Powder
- 1 tsp coriander & cumin Seeds Powder
- 1/2 tsp Red Chilli Powder
- 2 tbsp Peanuts(coarsely ground)

Method:
1. Take gram flour in a medium-sized pan and add water to it. Mix it and make it lump-free
2. Now add turmeric powder and salt to the mixture and mix it again
3. Turn on the flame, and cook it on medium to low flame
4. Keep stirring till the mixture is thick, which will take about 5-7 minutes
5. Once the mixture start turning thick, turn the flame to low and keep stirring
6. Now, take it out in a grease tray and spread it evenly throughout the tray
7. Keep it aside to cool down for about 10-12 minutes
8. Now take the tray, Separate patod from the sides and cut it into square pieces
9. Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, sesame seeds, asafoetida, fennel seeds, coriander & cumin seeds powder, red chilli powder
10. Now, put all the patod into the tempering mixture and mix it
11. Add peanuts along with salt on top, and give it another stir
12. Turn off the flame and remove it in a serving bowl
