FX to Bring Back Donald Glover's 'Atlanta' for a Fourth Season. The renewal comes before production on the Emmy-winning show's third season has even started. But according to 'The Hollywood Reporter,' filming for both season will now take place back-to-back starting sometime in spring 2020. 'THR' adds that the continuous filming is meant to accommodate Glover's schedule outside of the show. The news is welcoming for 'Atlanta' fans, who haven't seen a new episode since the season two finale, which was in May 2018. According to 'Variety,' both seasons will have eight episodes, which is less than season one's 10 and season two's 11. 'Atlanta's' executive producers, which include Glover's brother Stephen and director Hiro Murai, are expected to return. This group of collaborators and cast have created one of the most original, innovative stories of this generation and we are proud to be their partners, FX Entertainment president Eric Schrier, via statement.
