On Monday, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell threw some serious accusations at the mainstream media. He said several media outlets of spewing "modern-day McCarthyism.” McConnell is responding to criticism he faced from the media for blocking an election-security bill. A Washington Post op-ed described McConnell as a "Russian asset." The article went on to say McConnell was “doing Russian President Vladimir Putin’s bidding." McConnell called it a “shameful smear and based on more lies." “This is the state of left-wing politics ... Welcome to modern-day McCarthyism.”
