Hey, today I'm going to be talking about email vs messenger marketing and what to choose for an affiliate.

Email marketing really is the foundation for being an affiliate. In fact if you are not doing email marketing then you are missing out on a lot of money.

Lately messenger marketing and chatbots have been claimed to be the next best thing. Messenger marketing is when you use Facebook's messenger just like you would email marketing.

There are a few problems with messenger marketing that I would like to point out. I would like to start out with a question.

Have you ever gotten your Facebook account banned? I have gotten a few banned. The biggest negative with using messenger marketing is you don't own the list. Facebook owns the list.

If the list is your greatest asset online, why would you want to give it over to Facebook? Another negative with messenger marketing is it's not very good at displaying long messages.

Instant messenger is more geared towards shorter messages. A third negative with messenger marketing is it's easier to unsubscribe.

Another point I would like to make about messenger because I have 2 Facebook accounts and I'm always on messenger talking to people. I love talking to people.

Automated messeges and copy / paste just turns people off from my own experience. I know because I used stick sales promos in messenger and some people got pissed.

People do the same thing to me and I hate it. Don't do that. Using automated messeges with messenger it's almost like using a robot or robocall with a telephone.

This is way I look at it, what do you think? Some things it's better to manually do then try to have a robot do.

How I use messenger is talking to people like a human. I start off by asking people questions about how they make money online. How is your business going? Are you interested in an easier way to make money with affiliate marketing. Stuff like that.

If people show interest I'll share a short video that then leads them to a squeeze page.

It's not a push method but a pulling method by asking questions. This is not spam. People from my experience hate spam especially on messenger.

Spam is when you go to talk to someone and they give you a big sales pitch on something when you didn't express interest in it.

If I say, hi John nice to meet you how are you doing? Then John posts I found this amazing opportunity. You see how he is pushing it on me?

Do you agree or disagree with my definition of spam?

One of the benefits of messenger is the open rate. Yea, most people will talk to you if you talk to them.

With email the open rate is not as high. However, if you know how to do email marketing – which is probabably one of the most important skills to learn in affiliate marketing this is not a problem.

You just have to know how to do email marketing r
