Ford Motor Co, BMW AG, Volkswagen AG and Honda Motor Co reached an agreement with California. The companies agreed to recognize California’s legal authority to set vehicle emissions rules. The agreement goes against the White House’s plan to not give the state the right to do that. According to the Huffington Post, Trump argued that federal law overrides state law. The automakers said: “Ensuring that America’s vehicles are efficient, safe and affordable is a priority for us all.”
