Pro Boxer Maxim Dadashev Dies From Brain Injuries Sustained in Match The Russian native, a junior welterweight, was only 28 years old. According to ESPN, Dadashev's death was a result of brain damage after his defeat last week on Friday to Subriel Matias. The 11-round match was the first loss of Dadashev's pro boxing career. Their fight was held at Maryland's MGM National Harbor. Following the bout, Dadashev collapsed on his way to the dressing room.
