A town is left submerged in waist-deep water after heavy rain in the southern Philippines trapping residents inside their homes.

Elger Dagatan Cedeno, the public school teacher and disaster risk reduction coordinator in Darumawang Ilaya town, said he went around the town to check on the trapped residents on July 16 afternoon.

The team went around riding a boat as vehicles can't pass through the floodwaters in the town.
