The northernmost settlement on Earth is experiencing a record heatwave.
According to Business Insider, Alert, Canada, is 500 miles from the North Pole.
Temperatures reaching an unprecedented 70 degrees Fahrenheit on Tuesday.
The average July temperature for Alert is usually about 41 degrees.
Alarmed by the Arctic heatwave broke, one scientist even compared it to New York City reaching 111 degrees.
