Tropical Storm Barry is closing in on New Orleans. Reuters reports the storm is predicted to make landfall early Saturday morning.
Officials are predicting extreme rain and flooding for the area with the brunt of the storm expected to skirt the western edge of New Orleans.
Barry converged in the Gulf of Mexico on Thursday morning, packing maximum sustained winds of 40 miles per hour.
The high winds came one day after the gathering storm flooded New Orleans with nearly a foot of rain.
