President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping reached a trade ceasefire at a highly anticipated meeting late Friday. Coming on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Japan, the truce allows the US and China to put off $300 billion worth of additional tariffs. According to Markets Insider, Trump had vowed to levy the extra tariffs if no progress was made at the meeting. Trump and Xi have faced increasing pressure to defuse their yearlong trade war.
