David Attenborough thanked festival goers at the Glastonbury stage for banning single-use plastic bottles. He said: “That is more than 1 million bottles of water that have not been drunk by you in plastic.” The United Nations said around 180 countries agreed to reduce the amount of plastic getting washing into the ocean. The Glastonbury Festival banned the sale of water, soft drinks and alcohol in plastic bottles in 2019.
