The Radio Times reports a new episode of Doctor Who plans to air “some time before series 12 hits screens. According to iO9, the episode could possibly be in a festive slot like a New Year’s Day Special or a Christmas special. The episode will be a standalone, rather than any particularly direct lead in to the new season. The next season of Doctor Who is set to air sometime in 2020.
