El Chapo Loses Bid For A New Trail

A U.S. judge has rejected Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman’s bid for a new trial in his U.S. drug trafficking case. Guzman sought a new trial in March after Vice News reported incidents of juror misconduct, says Reuters. U.S. District Judge Brian Cogan said he would not hold a hearing to investigate juror misconduct further. Guzman's lawyer said the news "isn't even remotely surprising." He said the "Guzman trial was more of an inquisition, a show trial, than an exercise in true American justice.”
