The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention say a parasite called cryptosporidium, or crypto, is on the rise in the US.
Cryptosporidium can lead to diarrhea and vomiting. Recently, there's been an uptick of it at pools and water parks across the US.
But according to Business Insider, crypto isn't the only thing to worry about when you're swimming.
Many other pool contaminants can cause diarrhea, a rash or infection of the ears, eyes or lungs.
