The U.S. women’s national soccer team won the 2019 World Cup, beating the Netherlands 2-0. According to Reuters, the team will be honored with a parade in New York City on Wednesday. New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio wrote a tweet saying the team inspired the entire country with their win. Four years ago, the team was honored with a parade in lower Manhattan when they won the World Cup. This is the fourth Women’s World Cup victory for the U.S., winning in 1991, 1999 and 2015.
