The Worst Times to Be
on the Road During July 4th Vehicle association AAA says
nearly two million more people
will be in their cars from
July 3 to the 7 compared to 2018. AAA adds that this is due to
July 4th being on a Thursday. Transportation analyst Trevor Reed says avoid traveling during the
late afternoon Wednesday, July 3. Reed, who works at data analytics company INRIX,
says specifically don't drive from 4:30 to 6:30 PM. Trevor Reed, via

lower gas prices, car travel will
be more prominent than in 2018. Compared to last year,
the cost of gas is
19 cents less nationally. In total, AAA expects
nearly 42 million to be
using their vehicles for
the July 4th holiday weekend.
