Anti-extradition bill protesters try to storm Hong Kong’s legislature on tense handover anniversary
  • 5 years ago
Police have used pepper spray and raised warning banners during clashes with anti-extradition bill protesters trying to smash their way through glass panels at an entrance to Hong Kong’s Legislative Council Complex.  The violence followed other clashes between demonstrators and security forces earlier in the day on July 1, 2019, which marks 22 years since former British colony Hong Kong was returned to Chinese sovereignty.
