Celtics Are Favorites to Sign Kemba Walker Walker will be offered a four-year, $141 million contract from the Boston Celtics, according to ESPN. The Celtics have targeted the Charlotte Hornets point guard as their No. 1 free agent. Walker would be a replacement for Kyrie Irving, who is expected to leave Boston in free agency. The three-time All Star averaged 25.8 points a game this past season. Walker would join a Celtics lineup that includes Jayson Tatum, Gordon Hayward and Jaylen Brown. Without injured stars Irving and Hayward, Boston made the Eastern Conference finals in 2018. The Celtics lost in 5 games to the Milwaukee Bucks in the 2019 Eastern Conference semifinals. NBA free agency begins on Sunday, June 30 at 6 p.m. EST.
