Milwaukee's Giannis Antetokounmpo Takes
Home NBA MVP Award He beat out defending MVP James Harden,
who finished second in the voting. Antetokounmpo is just the second player
in Bucks franchise history
to win the honor since 1974. That year, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar won the third of his three MVP Awards with Milwaukee. Over the past four decades, the 24-year-old Antetokounmpo is the third-youngest MVP winner. He is also the
fifth foreign-born player
to claim the award. In his sixth year in the NBA, the
"Greek Freak" averaged
27.7 points and 12.5 rebounds. The six-foot 11-inch forward also
led the Bucks to the NBA's best record
during the 2018-19 regular season. Milwaukee went on to reach the
Eastern Conference Finals, where
they fell to the Raptors in six games.
