2026 Winter Olympics to Be Held in Italy The games will be set in the northern areas of Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo. Italy, which last held the Winter Olympics in 2006, beat out Sweden for hosting duties. Italy PM Giuseppe Conte, via IOC @Olympics, via Twitter Cortina d'Ampezzo previously hosted the games over 60 years ago in 1956. Recently, the Winter Olympics have been held in Sochi, Russia, in 2014 and Pyeongchang, South Korea, in 2018. For 2022, they will be hosted by Beijing, China.
