Perdue Issues Huge Recall for Its Organic Chicken According to CBS, nearly 16 tons of the affected items may contain bone fragments. The USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service says the chicken was produced in March 2019. Jeff Shaw, Perdue VP of Food Safety, via CBS Products include three versions of breaded organic chicken: tenders, breast strips and breast nuggets. All three of these items list 5/20 as the "Best If Used By Date." Under Perdue's "Chef Quik" variety, other recalls include breaded chicken breast patties and whole grain chicken breast strips. These also have a package date of this past March as well. Consumers are being told to throw the items out, call Perdue for a refund or bring the chicken back to where they bought it.
