Over 23,000 Fans Sign Petition for Danny DeVito to Replace Hugh Jackman as Wolverine A staggering amount of people have signed an
online petition calling for DeVito to
take on the iconic role of Wolverine. The petition states that DeVito is the “only man
able to take the throne after Hugh Jackman.” It references Jackman’s 2017 statement
that after 17 years he would no longer be
reprising his role as Wolverine. Hugh Jackman,
via ‘MTV’ However, Jackman hinted in 2018 that his departure
doesn’t necessarily mean the character won’t return. Hugh Jackman,
via ‘People’ Fans believe DeVito may stand a chance for the role, as he has past experience playing the villainous character of Penguin in 'Batman Returns.' DeVito has yet to respond to the
petition, and Marvel's future plans for
the 'X-Men' series have not been announced.
