Warriors Sweep Blazers to Reach Fifth Straight NBA Finals Golden State is the first team since the 1966 Boston Celtics to make five consecutive NBA Finals. The Warriors defeated the Portland Trail Blazers
119-117 in overtime on Monday night. Stephen Curry scored 37 points
to lead the Warriors. Damian Lillard had 28 points for Portland,
but he missed a game-winning shot in
regulation and another in overtime. The Warriors were without their star Kevin Durant for the entire Western Conference finals. Durant injured his right calf in the previous
series against the Houston Rockets. Durant's status for the NBA Finals is still uncertain. The Warriors will meet either the Milwaukee Bucks or Toronto Raptors in the NBA Finals. Golden State will be seeking their third straight title when the NBA Finals begin on May 30.
