The New 'Sonic the Hedgehog' Official Trailer Is Here Sonic is back and he's gotta go fast. Paramount Pictures released the first trailer for its live-action film based on the popular Sega video game. The trailer features James Marsden as a local sheriff who teams with Sonic. They take on the evil scientist, Dr. Robotnik, played by Jim Carrey. Sonic is voiced by Ben Schwartz. The film will be directed by Jeff Fowler, making his feature film directorial debut. 'Sonic the Hedgehog' will hit theaters on Nov. 8.
