Death Toll From Terror Attacks in Sri Lanka Rises to 290 The six nearly-simultaneous blasts rocked three churches and three luxury hotels in and just outside of the Sri Lankan capital. Two more explosions followed nearly two hours later. According to police, 24 suspects have been arrested in connection with the explosions. Of the 290 dead, 11 were foreigners, including at least two U.S. citizens. The blasts injured 500 people. U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo condemned the terror attacks. Mike Pompeo, Sec. of State, via Fox News President Trump and former President Obama both tweeted after the attacks. Authorities are blaming a local jihadist group, National Thowheed Jamath, but they have not claimed responsibility.
