A small plane crashed and burst into flames while taking off from Fullerton Airport in southern California on Thursday evening (April 18).

Aftermath footage shows the aircraft engulfed in flames moments before firefighters arrived at the scene.

The pilot, who was reportedly killed in the accident, was the only person onboard.

The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the causes of the crash.
