Donald Trump Vetoes
Yemen War Resolution President Trump issued the second
veto of his presidency on April 17. The veto stopped a congressional
resolution that sought to end
U.S. involvement in the Yemen war. Trump said the resolution was
“unnecessary,” as there are no
U.S. military personnel in Yemen
"aiding the Saudi‑led coalition." He believes the resolution
was only made as a rebuke
of his Middle East policies. Donald Trump, via statement Supporters of the resolution

involvement in the war is wrong. The resolution had previously
passed in the House 247-175
