'Star Wars' Movies to Take Hiatus After Episode IX The final movie in the Skywalker saga is set to hit theaters December 20th. Bob Iger, Walt Disney Chairman & CEO via Bloomberg TV Disney will focus on live-action TV projects for the franchise. Most notably, 'The Mandalorian' from director Jon Favreau. It's all for their upcoming streaming platform. A 'Rogue One' spin-off is also in the works. 'Disney +' is expected to debut in November.
