Georgia June is a young, talented Australian artist with a bold outlook on life.

Born and raised in Sydney, Georgia has never shied away from taking risks. She started singing lessons at age 10 and writing songs at 12. She attended Newtown High School of the Performing Arts and began gigging around Sydney at popular venues, such as The Record Crate and The Newsagency (which she sold out).

At age 13, Georgia started working in order to fund her budding music career. After graduation, despite being accepted into the University of Sydney, Georgia decided to propel her career forward and she used these funds to follow her dreams and travelled halfway across the world to New York City. She arranged and met with various music industry professionals, including Billboard Magazine, Green & Bloom and Marauder Group. Through networking she met a producer out of Brooklyn, Kenkichi Eno with whom she recorded her first 3-track demo, entitled Smile For Me, which she is currently shopping to agents and labels.

Georgia’s influences are very diverse and cover the spectrum from the Divinyls and Blondie, to Pattie Smith, Talking Heads, Stevie Wonder, Amy Winehouse, P!nk and Prince. It was P!nk’s “I’m Not Dead” tour that impacted Georgia most. This was Georgia’s first concert, and after seeing ‘Stupid Girls’ and ‘Dear Mr. President’ live with her mum, there was no doubt in her mind that a career in music is what she wanted to do and it was the perfect platform that would enable her to be heard. She is passionate about social justice issues and her writing reflects on society, politics and relationships as well as her own life experiences. Georgia captivates her audience with the honesty and authenticity of her music and voice, emotionally investing in every song and performance. Her powerful presence and confronting lyrics draws her audience.

In addition, Georgia has an open, witty and relatable personality that is contagious. Alison Avron, the owner of The Newsagency calls Georgia, “an energetic and captivating performer. She is a strong songwriter with a depth in her voice and lyrics well beyond her years."
