In HIMSS' vision a champion is "a superhero – someone with, perhaps superhuman powers, dedicated to fighting the evils of the universe and protecting the public, but in the Healthcare universe, a champion of health is a very human, who yet fights evils and villains in the form of disease and illness, inefficiencies, high costs, bureaucracy, one-size-fits-all mentality"
