'Dumbo' Fails to Meet Global Box Office Expectations The live-action film, which stars Colin Farrell, has taken in $71 million overseas. Analysts had expected the remake of the Disney animated movie to make up to $90 million. This amount is slightly lower than Disney's prediction of $50 million. The film was still able to take the top spot from Jordan Peele's 'Us.' Globally, the movie has taken in $116 million. That's the second best worldwide opening for a Disney film this year after 'Captain Marvel.' In European countries, 'Dumbo' took the top box office spot in France and Italy. In China, it claimed the second-highest box office spot with $10.7 million earned this past weekend.
