157 Dead in Ethiopian Plane Crash On Sunday, March 10, Ethiopian Airlines flight ET302 crashed for undetermined reasons, killing all aboard the aircraft. Citizens of 35 countries were among the 157 killed, including 32 Kenyans, 18 Canadians and 8 Americans. The flight reported technical problems shortly after it took off from the Ethiopian capitol of Addis Ababa at 8:44 a.m. A routine check of the plane before takeoff hadn’t revealed any issues and the pilot had extensive flying experience. The plane’s data recorders have been recovered from the crash sight and will be used to determine what happened to the flight. The plane was a Boeing 737 Max 8, the same model as the plane that crashed in October of 2018 over the Java Sea. Boeing has sent a technical team to the Ethiopian crash site to provide assistance and investigate the situation. Administrations such China and India have ordered the grounding of all Boeing 737 Max 8 jets as an extra safety precaution. Mary Schiavo, aviation analyst, via CNN
