Hundreds of women have gone on strike outside the Bank of England in London on International Women's Day today (March 8) in solidarity of women everywhere.

Footage from the scene shows protesters waving placards with slogans such as "Revolution is not a one-time thing!" and "Mum is on strike!" in a show of defiance.

The demonstration was part of the "Women's Strike" where women were to take up action and work against the unequal and unjust labour conditions and expectations forced upon women worldwide.
