UK city celebrates Shrove Tuesday with annual pancake race

The annual Shrove Tuesday pancake race took place in St. Albans, Hertfordshire today (March 5).

There was a mixture of walking and running races in the city centre's market place where competitors took on a short course.

Those who chose to dress up had to use guides as they made their way through the track.

But for the first time ever, toddlers were allowed to participate - with a helping hand from some parents at least.
