Cory Booker Introduces Bill to Legalize Marijuana Nationwide On February 28, Senator Cory Booker introduced the Marijuana Justice Act. If passed, this bill will legalize recreational marijuana use on a federal level and expunge existing convictions. The Marijuana Justice Act is sponsored by a number of fellow Democratic presidential candidates. Among them are Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders and Kamala Harris. Booker’s push for legalization comes at an optimal time, as ten states and Washington D.C. have legalized recreational marijuana. Other states such as New York and New Jersey have stated their intent to do so in the near future.
