Bangalore: Vibgyor School reopens while parents caught in dilemma

The elite Bangalore school where a six-year-old was raped earlier this month, allegedly by a skating instructor, reopened today for classes 5 to 10.

Vibgyor International School has remained closed since the crime was reported by the child's mother, who says her daughter was assaulted on July 2.

For classes 1 to 4, the school will reopen on Wednesday.

On Sunday, nearly a hundred parents, accompanied by officials from the education and police departments, visited the school premises to check the security arrangements made by its management. Around 110 CCTVs are expected to be operational from today.

Infact, the Bangalore police has issued new security guidelines to city schools which include installing GPS and CCTV cameras in their buses, not allowing bus drivers to mingle with children and issuing identity cards to all those who come to pick up children.
