The Rajya Sabha Polls are to be held on August 8th. The Rajya Sabha Elections have become a high-stakes battle for the ruling BJP and the Opposition Congress. The big question for the Congress is whether its leader Ahmed Patel can enter the Rajya Sabha for the fifth time. Considered to be one of Sonia Gandhi's closest aide, Patel's defeat will be a major loss of face for the Congress. The Congress had moved its MLAs to the Karnataka resort fearing defections ahead of the Rajya Sabha Polls. 7 Congress MLAs had quit the party and four of them joined BJP.
