NewsX : Sanjay Dutt's parole extended by another 14 days

Actor Sanjay Dutt, a convict in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case, was on Monday granted a 14-day extension of his leave of furlough, jail authorities said.

Dutt, who left the Yerawada prison on October 1 after being sanctioned a 14-day leave of furlough, had sought further extension on medical ground.
A parole is a conditional release of a prisoner for a limited period for a specific purpose and is strictly governed under Indian jail laws.

Dutt is serving a 42-month sentence for his role in the March 1993 Mumbai serial bombings of March 1993.
He was convicted by a special Tada court for illegal possession of a pistol and an AK-47 rifle.
