NewsX: Bodies of missing sailors are burnt beyond recognition

36 hours after salvage operations by Navy divers 3 bodies of the 18 missing sailors have been recovered from INS Sindhurakshak.
However, these bodies which have been incinerated due to heat from the explosion are burnt beyond recognition. Naval sources say that the condition of bodies and damage to the submarine indicate that survival of the remaining missing sailors is almost minimal.
Early this morning, navy divers found the dead bodies from the second compartment behind the conning tower. The bodies have now been sent to the naval hospital INHS Ashwini for DNA identification.
