West Bengal : CBI to probe into Chit Fund

NewsX: Calcutta High Court will hear Saradha Chit Fund scam to decide whether it will be handed over to CBI or not.
Remember, two PILs have been filed by lawyers stating its incumbent to transfer the case to CBI praying for a free and fair trial after alleged proximity between Saradha CMD Sudipta Sen and Trinamool congress leaders.
Sen's explosive letter to CBI had named several top TMC leaders including Rajya Sabha MP Kunal Ghosh. Ghosh who was the CEO of Sharadha group's media outfit filed affidavit in Calcutta High Court on Monday pleading innocence.
And it isn't just for Saradha scam. CBI probe has also been demanded on Sudipta Gupta.. the slain SFI leader's father had filed a case in Calcutta High court last month praying for CBI probe in his son's alleged custodial death on April 2nd this year..
His prayer was echoed by the opposition in the state as Left was quick to make him their poster boy. This case too is slated to come up in Calcutta high court later in the day. If Kazi Nasiruddin's case sets a precedence then there's sure to be another set back for Mamata Banerjee.
