Chit fund scam in West Bengal kills a father

The Sardha Chit Fund scam was only tip of the iceberg. There are hundreds of fake chit fund companies operating in Bengal, which have gone bust and fleeced thousands. Consequently, many investors and agents of such companies are resorting to suicides in rural Bengal. The number of suicides has risen to at least 8 in the past 2 weeks.
