As the protests by Union Public Service Commission Civil Service aspirants turned violent on Wednesday night at Mukherjee Nagar in the national capital, the police force took some measures so as to avoid any unfortunate incident.

A senior police official on the condition of anonymity said that only preventive measures are being taken. "There is no Section 144 imposed in the area but no group will be allowed to protest here or nearby areas."

The police have placed barricades in the area and stage where the protesting aspirants used to gather has been removed. Heavy security is also in place.
