Trump Cuts North Korean Summit Short After Negotiations Fall Through President Donald Trump abruptly
departed Vietnam on February 28
after his negotiations with
North Korea were unsuccessful. He met with Kim Jong Un to speak about denuclearizing North Korea’s weapons program. Trump left after Kim demanded all U.S. sanctions
be lifted from the country in exchange for the closing of his Yongbyon nuclear facility. Donald Trump, via Fox The U.S. wasn’t willing to make a deal without the
disarmament of North Korea's missile and warhead program,
as well their secret facilities outside of Yongbyon. At a solo press conference following
the summit, Trump remarked that he’d
“rather do it right than do it fast.” A third summit is unconfirmed,
but Press Secretary Sarah Sanders
