Netflix Just Bought One of The Biggest Movies of 2019 Netflix has acquired the streaming rights to
'The Wandering Earth' for an undisclosed amount
and plans to release it on their digital platform soon. 'The Wandering Earth,' written and directed
by Frant Gwo, tells the story of Earth’s survival
against the expanding sun. With only a $50 million budget, the movie
used over 2,000 special effect shots, 10,000 custom props and spent two years in post-production. 'The Wandering Earth' has already amassed
over $600 million at the Chinese box office. In only two weeks, it’s become
the country’s second-highest
grossing film of all time. Netflix plans to translate
the movie into 28 different
languages and stream it in
over 190 countries.
